Metal Gear Solid 4 launch events cancelled
You'll have to fly overseas to celebrate Snake's arrival.
Metal Gear Solid 4 was set to launch this Thursday with festivities on a worldwide scale. It looks like Japan won't be taking part in the fun, though, as Konami announced today that it has had to cancel the game's Japanese launch events due to "various circumstances."
Originally, the company was planning launch events at three retailers throughout Tokyo. Most notable was the Bic Camera in Yurakucho, where image girl Akina Minami and character designer Yoji Shinkawa were scheduled to hold events both prior to store's opening and later in the afternoon.
The company did not provide specifics on the nature of the circumstances surrounding the cancellation.
Those looking forward to the game without the festivities can rest assured that the release is going forward as planned.
