You didn't think Kojima Productions was done with Metal Gear Solid 4 just because the massive production made it out to retail last week, did you? Konami delivered a big gift today that's sure to make MGS series fanatics happy -- maybe even happier than when they first powered up their PS3 with the MGS4 disc inside.

PS3 owners can log into the PlayStation Store today to download the Metal Gear Solid 4 Database, a database covering the seven titles that make up the Metal Gear series -- or the "MG Saga," as Konami refers to it.

Spoilers are blocked out for MGS4 players.

The database includes details on the following titles:

• Metal Gear
• Metal Gear 2 Solid Snake
• Metal Gear Solid
• Metal Gear Solid 2 Sons of Liberty
• Metal Gear Solid 3 Snake Eater
• Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops
• Metal Gear Solid 4 Guns of the Patriots

All the information is split across three areas: GENE, MEME, and SCENE. In non Kojima-speak, that's Encyclopedia, Relationships, and History. Dumbed down just a bit, that becomes dictionary of terms, character relation chart, and timeline.

Those who haven't gotten through MGS4 will presumably be pleased to know that spoilers are blocked off until your save data says you've encountered those areas in the game proper.
