Konami plans nationwide world tour for Metal Gear Solid 4
Signings and talk events by Kojima and crew, plus major Metal Gear Online news.
Konami's sudden cancelation of its Metal Gear Solid 4 Japanese launch event was likely disappointing for series fans. But today, the company made amends with the announcement of a new "world tour" for the game, to take place at locations throughout Japan this weekend.
Konami will be holding the Metal Gear Solid 4 World Tour in Japan event on June 28 and June 29, reaching five retailers throughout the nation. Series producer/director/mastermind Hideo Kojima will join art director Yoji Shinkawa for talk and sign events and will hand out rare goods as part of a raffle. Konami even says to expect some sort of major announcement regarding Metal Gear Online.
The five events will start in Tokyo and progress towards Osaka:
- Yodobashi Camera Shinjuku West
- June 28, 10:00 to 11:00
- Sofmap Giga Store Omiya
- June 28, 14:30 to 15:30
- Yodobashi Camera Multimedia Yokohama
- June 28, 17:30 to 19:00
- Bic Camera Nagyoa Station East
- June 29, 10:30 to 12:00
- Yamada Denki Labi 1 Nanba (in Osaka)
- June 29, 16:00 to 17:30
The signings will be held only at the Yokohama, Nagoya and Osaka events.
Konami will be handing out rare posters to the first 50 people who arrive at the events.
