Unreal Tournament 3 set for Japan
PS3, Xbox 360, and PC versions arrive simultaneously.
Japan is finally ready to get in on the Unreal Tournament craze. Following a debut in last week's Famitsu, Electronic Arts has briefed the Japanese web media on its plans for Unreal Tournament 3 in the domestic market.
Unlike the scattered overseas releases, Unreal Tournament 3 will hit PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Windows here simultaneously, on September 18. Pricing has yet to be set.
In case you missed all the overseas drama last year, Unreal Tournament 3 is the latest in Epic Games' flagship FPS franchise, Unreal Tournament. Making use of the latest rev of the Unreal Engine 3 development tools, the game boasts high end visuals while also offering the multiplayer combat for which the series is known. Also debuting with part 3 is a single player campaign mode.
The 360 and PS3 versions will be full Japanese releases, while the Windows version will be the English version with a Japanese manual (this is something that PC players are presumably used to). 360 players have a few bonuses in the form of two additional characters, five extra maps, and split screen play.
