Space Invaders Get Even soundtrack hits iTunes

Soundtrack set for download-only sales in two weeks.

This is what it might have looked like as a package release.

The Space Invaders have invaded a traditional brick and mortar shopping complex in Laforet Harajuku, and now they appear to have their sites set on the virtual shopping center of the future: iTunes. The Apple shop will soon take delivery of the bits and bytes that comprise the Space Invaders Get Even Original Soundtrack.

This soundtrack is for the upcoming WiiWare rethinking of the series, which reverses the classic premise and puts players in control of the invaders. The game's music was created by Taito's sound team Zuntata and a variety of artists.

Tracks on the soundtrack range from orchestral pieces to retro techno sounds. Included are some tracks that aren't even used in the game.

Look for the Space Invaders Get Even soundtrack at the iTunes store on August 20. The soundtrack will be sold as a whole for 1,500 yen, or on a song-by-song basis at 150 yen.

As for Get Even itself, the title is due for WiiWare release some time this summer at 500 WiiPoints.
