Dengeki Bunko RPG set for DS
Veil slowly comes off mysterious crossover title.
The mysterious Dengeki Bunkou character RPG got a bit less mysterious today as the game's official site was updated with a final name and platform.
First announced last month under the placeholder "Dengeku Bunkou RPG" name, this new game from Dengeki Online publisher Ascii Media Works promises to feature a crossover of characters from the Dengeki Bunkou line of light novels.
While the title was originally announced as platform TBA, the official site now confirms that the game will be released for the DS. The game's final title is Dengeki Gakuen RPG Cross of Venus.
This action RPG begins when a bridge is formed between the "Dengeki Gakuen" (Dengeki School) of the real world and the "Novel World" of Dengeki Bunkou. Players take control of an unnamed second year high school student who likes to help people. Certain rumors prompt him to sneak into the school one night, where he gets involved in the fight to save the Novel World.
Joining the main character is Kizuna, the game's heroine who, like the main character, is an original creation for the game. She's a big fan of Dengeki Bunkou and, a childhood friend of the main character, serves as a support role.
ASCII has some big names going into the production of Dengeki Gakuen RPG. The main character was designed by Kouhaku Kuroboshi, known for Allison and Summon Night. The heroine was designed by Shakugan no Shana designer Noizi Ito and is being voiced by Eri Kitamura.
Outside of these original characters, the title is confirmed to include Kino from Kino no Tabi, Shana from Shakugan no Shana, and Kana Iriya from Iriya no Sora, UFO no Natsu.
Dengeki Gakuen RPG Cross of Venus is due for release this Winter.
