Ryu ga Gotoku 3 set for Spring

Sega shares tie-up and voice actor details, promises TGS surprise.

As part of a pre Tokyo Game Show briefing today in Tokyo, Sega offered new details along with a general release period for Ryu ga Gotoku 3, the latest entry in the adult-oriented, story-heavy series that's known overseas as Yakuza.

Producer Toshihiro Nagoshi took the stage himself to announce a general time frame for the title. Previously flagged only with a TBA date, the game is now set for final release this Spring.

In addition to release and casting information, Sega shared first high resolution Gotoku 3 screenshots today.

In what has become expected of any new Ryu ga Gotoku series announcement, Nagoshi announced two additional high profile actors who will be lending their vocal talents to Gotoku 3. Joining the cast are Daisuke Miyagawa in the role of Mikio and Hiroyuki Miyasako in the role of Tsuyoshi Kanda.

The two shared video messages in commemoration of their roles. Miyasako joked that he looks completely different from Kanda, as even though he's a bit thin on the hair, the character is completely shaven. He admitted to having never sweated as much when doing a voice role before. Miyagawa mentioned his happiness at being offered the role, and said that the recording process was enjoyable.

Sega has been slowly sharing cast members for the game over the past few months. Today, it provided a list of who's playing what:
