Magic Academy tops Trader used charts

People rush to sell back game early morning on launch day. Wait, what?

Trader's Shunichi Kobayashi is back with his latest [a href=http://www.mainichi.jp/enta/mantan/game/archive/news/2008/09/18/20080918mog00m200012000c.html]used games report[/a] over at Mainichi.jp.

For the week covering 9/9 to 9/15, Quiz Magic Academy DS was tops in the used market at the large used games retailer. Tales of Vesperia climbed up to second place. The rest of the chart had Persona 4 at third, followed by Infinite Undiscovery, Super Robot Taisen A (PSP), Dragon Quest 5, Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G, Soul Calibur IV (Xbox 360), Phantasy Star Portable, and Fire Emblem (DS).

What's missing from this chart? That's right, Pokemon Platinum! While Kobayashi makes mention of the game's "overwhelming" sales following its release, he notes that hardly any of those copies made it to the used market.

For Quiz Magic Academy, Kobayashi says that there were a bunch of people selling the game early in the morning, presumably because of the bonus item Traders was giving to sellers. Later in the night, a rush of 20 to 30-year-old sallarymen bought those all those used copies.
