Silver Jiken set for Game Archives

Classic from Killer 7's Suda 51 to be made downloadable later this year.

Silver Jiken will be released to the Game Archives, Grasshopper Manufacturer's Suda 51 (Goichi Suda) revealed at a fan event in Tokyo today. The 1999 PlayStation title will be available for download via the PlayStation Network in November or December pending final negotiations with Sony.

The title in quest was the first game from Suda, who's since received international fame through games like No More Heroes and Killer 7. Recently, the game has returned to the headlines with the announcement of a DS remake.

Suda 51 (to the left) speaks at a Grasshopper fan event Thursday evening. The event focused on Western games, and featured guests like Smash Bros. director Masahiro Sakurai.

The announcement took place at Grasshopper's Foreign Video Game Unlawful Assembly 2K8, the first part of a two day 10th anniversary celebration for the studio. Suda 51, speaking on stage with Famitsu editor Mask De Uh, apologized for being unable to share any new information regarding his recently announced Electronic Arts project. In exchange, he shared the news about the Silver Jiken re-release.
