Xbox 360 dominates used charts

Is that good or bad?

The Xbox 360 is at the top of the charts in this week's [a href=http://mainichi.jp/enta/mantan/game/archive/news/2008/09/25/20080925mog00m200030000c.htmls]used games report[/a] from Trader's Shunichi Kobayashi over at Mainichi.

The top three was all 360 over the week covering September 16 to September 22. Tales of Vesperia took the number one spot, followed by Infininte Undiscovery and Soul Calibur IV.

On the one hand, having all these games being sold back means that people are actually buying them in the first place... which is obviously a good thing for the 360.

But on the other hand... well, they're selling them back.

Kobayashi notes that demand is still greater than supply on the used market for Vesperia. With Infinite Undiscovery, however, more copies are coming in than are being sold back. This is okay, he says, because the game is still selling.

The rest of the chart has Phantasy Star Portable at fourth, followed by Quiz Magic Academy DS, Dragon Quest V, Persona 4, Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G, Fire Emblem: Shin Ankoku Ryuu to Hikari no Ken, and Pocket Monsters Platinum.

For this week, Kobayashi expects big things out of Super Robot Wars Taisen Z, pointing out that huge crowds gather whenever trailers are shown on monitors around Akihabara (I have to agree with this... I was so caught up with watching the demo footage at Bic Camera yesterday while buying the game that I didn't notice my credit card getting rejected). His Trader shop actually had to refrain from playing trailer footage because the crowds were too large.
