Sega details Tokyo Game Show game plan
Stage schedule, playable title list and more revealed
Sega updated its [a href=http://tgs.sega.jp/2008/]Tokyo Game Show 2008 special site[/a] today with its plans for next weekend's big game event. The company will be showing a number of upcoming titles in playable state and also has some limited edition goods and stage shows in the planning.
Playable titles at the booth include:
- Sonic World Adventure (aka Sonic Universe, PS3, Xbox 360)
- 428 (Wii)
- Bleach Versus Crusade (Wii)
- Culdecept DS (DS)
- Mysterious Dungeon Fuurai no Shiren DS 2 (aka Shiren the Wanderer DS 2, DS)
- Blazer Drive (DS)
- Phantasy Star Zero (DS)
- Seventh Dragon (DS)
- Shining Force Feather (DS)
- Mugen Kourou (aka Infinite Space, DS)
Kaite Oboeru Doragana (DS), Samba De Amigo (Wii), and the Wii version of Sonic World Adventure will be playable in the show's Kids Corner section.
Video-only titles include:
- Ryu ga Gotoku 3 (aka Yakuza 3, PS3)
- Bayonetta (PS3, X360)
- Suzumiya Haruhi no Heiretsu (Wii)
- Phantasy Star Portable (PSP)
- Garnet Chronicle (PSP)

Of these games Phantasy Star Portable's appearance may be a bit unexpected since the game is already out. Sega actually has a special bonus planned for the title. The fifth download mission, Totsugeki! Kaikei Seibutsu Report, will be distributed at the event ahead of its general release.
Outside of its own titles, Sega's booth will house games from a variety of publishers whose product it distributes. The following will be available in either playable or video form:

Sampling many of the Sega and Sega partner will get you some limited edition goods. Sega has the following goodies planned for the event:

Sega will also be holding a number of stage events, and is even promising live internet broadcasts for many of them. The following events are planned.
- Ryu ga Gotoku 3
- The Thursday, Friday, and Saturday shows will feature a stage offering a game introduction by producer Toshihiro Nagoshi with special appearances by Koakuma Ageha models. The Thursday showing will actually be a press conference featuring a special guest. This is presumably where the special musical tie-up Nagoshi mentioned in the past will be announced. On Sunday, Sega will host a live recording session of the Kamiyacho Radio Station featuring voice actors form the game.
- 428
- Set exclusively for Sunday, this stage event will take the form of a talk event with director Ishi Ijiro and the acting cast.
- Mysterious Dungeon Fuurai no Shiren DS 2
- Set for Friday, this stage will feature appearances by Chun Soft CEO Koichi Nakamura and Shiren DS 2 image character JERO.
- Sega X Platinum Games Project
- Set for Thursday and Saturday, this stage will cover Bayonetta, Mugen Kourou and Mad World, with staff appearances from Sega, Platinum Games, and Nude Maker. Sega is promising new game footage here.
- Shining Force Feather
- Producer Yoichi Shimosato and other creators will speak about the latest Shining Force game on Saturday.
- Seventh Dragon
- Producer Rieko Kodama and sound composer Yuzo Koshiro will be joined by and special guest Tomomi Isomura for this Sunday show.
- Phantasy Star Zero
- Producer Satoshi Sakai will hold a talk event on Friday and Saturday. On Saturday, he will be joined by Wagaya as a special guest.
- Blazer Drive
- Special guest Psychic Rubber will perform a mini live closing off the show on Saturday
- Hatsuon Miku Project Diva
- Voice actresses Asami Shimoda and Saki Fujita will hold a talk event on Sunday, limited to just 300 attendees.
- Culdecept DS
- Omiya Soft CEO Hideo Suzuki, and illustrators Naoyuki Kato and Satoshi Nakai will share episodes and illustrations from ten years of Culdecept development in this Friday show.
- Finale Live
- Closing off the show on Sunday, Sega will host a thirty minute music bash focusing on Sonic songs from the past but also featuring the live debut performance of music from Ryu ga Gotoku 3.
Those wanting to get special treatment at the Sega booth can apply at the Sega TGS portal to become a [a href=http://tgs.sega.jp/2008/correspondent/]Sega special correspondent[/a]. Correspondents get priority placement for game demos in exchange for filling out surveys following their play sessions and promising to report on the Sega booth on their blogs. Sega will accept 100 correspondents per day. The deadline for application is September 30.
