Sega uses Ninety-Nine as promo character for Sakatsuku
Latest soccer sim set for November 20 release
Sega announced today that it will be making use of comedy group Ninety-Nine to promote the upcoming Saka Tsuku Touch & Direct.
The popular duo, consisting of Takashi Okamura and Hiroyuki Yabe, will be used in a variety of promotional forms, including television commercials and other advertisements. These will kick off later this month with retailer materials and continue into November with a television campaign.
Saka Tsuku Touch & Direct is the latest entry in Sega's popular line of soccer simulations. The game features over 2,000 players, including real life international and domestic superstars and original in-game creations. As usual, one of the main focuses is on the simulation aspect of building up your own team, but the title also promises more focus on the actual play action due to new stylus-based controls.
It's unclear if this was an intentional connection, but Sega notes that in addition to Ninety-Nine being the promotional characters for the game, the number of original player creations you can store in the game is 99.
Saka Tsuku Touch & Direct will be released on November 20.
