Suda 51 X Shinji Mikami X EA project to make use of Unreal Engine 3
Silence breaks on mysterious horror title
Grasshopper Manufacturer announced today that the upcoming Electronic Arts-published titled that's being directed by Killer 7's Suda Goichi and produced by former Capcom superstar Shinji Mikami will make use of Unreal Engine 3.
This is the first we've heard of the new game since its announcement in America in mid August. At the time, Mikami described the title as "dark, scary, and exciting," with Goichi referring to it as "a mysterious horror action game."
Both producers have expressed great interest in the Wii, prompting some speculation that the new game would be for the Nintendo hardware. However, the use of Unreal Engine 3 technology would suggest a PS3, Xbox 360 and PC release. EA has yet to specify the system for the game, although it has said that it will be multiplatform.
Commenting on the announcement, Goichi said "Unreal Engine 3 is powerful, and is suited to realize the vision of the creative team at Grasshopper while being easy to implement." Jay Wilbur, from Unreal Engine 3 developer Epic Games, said, "We're honored to be able to work with Mr. Mikami and Mr. Goichi on their next project. We're looking forward to seeing what type of product will result with the Unreal Engine 3 in their hands."
