Ad-hoc Party kicks off

Delayed service available with Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G support

Following a last minute delay last week, Sony at last kicked off its Ad-Hoc Party for PlayStation Portable service today.

Ad-Hoc Party for PlayStation offers PSP users a chance to turn their local wireless play games into true internet-based network titles. The PS3 acts as a proxy and offers lobby services and voice chat via either a wireless headset or PlayStation Eye peripheral.

To access the service, which is available only in beta form at the moment, owners of the PS3 and PSP need to download an application of the same name from the PlayStation Store via the PS3.

Sony states that the service currently supports only Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G.
