Overturn priced, detailed

Story and stage details on new WiiWare mech game.

Studio Zan offered a followup report today on Overturn, its new WiiWare mech game.

As previously detailed, the game lets players take their customized "Overturn Machine" mechs into battle. Multiplayer options include two player split screen play and four player online play. The game supports the Balance wii Board as a control option, allowing players to control their mechs with their body balance.

Overturn has a background story surrounding its combat.

Today, Studio Zan shared story details. The game takes place on a colonized planet called Zastedion and centers on an annual Master Tournament that's reached its 54th year of running. Participants in this tournament use Overturn Machines as their craft.

This year's tournament appears to be particularly exciting because some no-name participant (presumably the player) has been climbing the ranks, defeating everyone. This causes people to take notice, as the champ 30 years running may have at last met his match.

Joining the story detaills, Studio Zan provided a look at some of the battle fields on which your fight will take place. Battles take place in restricted arenas, looking a bit like one might find in a Virtual On game. Each field has its own peculiarities, including obstacles that can serve as hiding places. Players will have to take the stage layout into account when planning their strategy.

Some stages appear to be specific to certain modes of play and can only be accessed when playing over Wi-Fi or when playing battle royal matches.

Overturn is still set for a November release. Studio Zan revealed a final price point of 800 WiiPoints for the game today but did not share a specific release date.
