Date set for King of Fighters 2002 Unlimited Match
SNK fighting fanatics should set aside some time in February.
SNK Playmore shared today a final release date of February 26, 2009 for The King of Fighters 2002 Unlimited Match. The PS2 title will carry a price of 5,040 yen.
Unlimited Match is a PS2 version of the NeoGeo classic King of Fighters 2002, considered by many to be one of the top entries in the long-running fighting series. The PS2 rev features a total of 66 characters along with updated balance and new moves.
Outside of standard arcade combat modes, players have access to a challenge mode with a total of 50 challenges, a practice mode that lets you build up your own combos, and a mirror mode where your opponent mirrors your moves. Fans can look forward to a gallery mode featuring illustrations and promotion and demo videos.
On the presentation side of things, the title features new visuals for interface, opening, ending, demos and stages. The game's BGM has been fully renewed.
Those who prefer to play the original Neo Geo version of KOF2002 unchanged can also access a "Neo Geo Mode."
The first run version of the game will include a "Special Combo DVD," SNK Playmore also revealed.
