EA brings Sim Animals to Japan

DS and Wii versions arriving in February.

Electronic Arts announced today Japanese release plans for Sim Animals. The new Wii and DS entry in the Sim sieres was first announced at the Electronics Entertainment Expo in July.

Here in Japan, both versions will be released simultaneously on February 19. The Wii version will cost 6,090 yen, a bit up from the DS version's 4,980 yen.

In Sim Animals, players attempt to build up a forest so that it's suitable for plant and animal life. Players must care for their forest by growing and watering plants and flowers and also making sure their animals can find food. The game includes 30 types of animals and plants.

Both versions promise exclusive features that one would expect of their platforms. On the DS, players will be able to use the stylus to directly interact with animals. On the Wii, four players will be able to play simultaneously.

The overseas release of Sim Animals is scheduled to precede the Japanese release in January.
