Konami brings Metal Gear and more to iPhone/iPod Touch

Four titles announced for December and Spring release.

Konami announced today a lineup of titles for Apple's iPhone/iPod Touch platform, including such major names as Silent Hill and Metal Gear.

Leading the pack is Metal Gear Solid Touch. Featuring characters and world elements from Metal Gear Solid 4, MGST offers direct touch controls both for targeting reticle and zooming. By clearing stages in the game, players earn points which can be traded for Metal Gear series videos and wallpapers. The game will offer eight stages of play initially, with more added in the future through downloads.

Konami has updated the the mystery Metal Gear Site that it opened on the 5th with notice that the mystery title is indeed Metal Gear Solid Touch.

Other titles set to hit the platform include DanceDance Revolution S Lite, Silent Hill The Escape, and Frogger.

In DanceDanceRevolution S Light, players tap icons as they fall from the top of the screen in synchronization with music.

Frogger, a new version of the classic arcade title, has players move a frog through direct touch panel controls, crossing roads and rivers while avoiding cars and other traps.

Silent Hill the Escape is a first person 3D shooting title in which players move their character via touch panel motions and take aim at enemies by moving a targeting reticle around through tilt controls. The game shares a name with an iMode title that was released in 2007.
