Wondering what Japanese-speaking gamers are into? Then check out this article at Famitsu.com, which lists the top accessed stories for the site in 2008.
According to that report, from January 1, 2008 to December 31, 2008, Famitsu.com posted 6,735 stories. Of these, the most accessed story was a report comparing the PSP-2000 and PSP-3000. You'll recognize this as the story that debuted that famous strawberry comparison shot.
Following this, in order, were:
- A Street Fighter IV play report
- A story about Haurhi Suzumiya no Tomadoi featuring one of the characters in a towel.
- A story covering the nnouncement of Final Fantasy Agito XIII for PSP
- A story covering the announcement of Tatsunoko VS Capcom
- A story about Final Fantasy XIII where bandana guy's name was first revealed to be Snow
- A preview of Monster Hunter 3
- A preview of Dragon Ball Z Infinite World
- A preview of the Final Fantasy Agito XIII battle system
- A Street Fighter IV preview detailing the boss character, Seth.
Of the top thirty, thirteen stories were related to Square Enix (mostly Final Fantasy XIII, butsome Dragon Quest stuff too), two to Monster Hunter 3 and two to Street Fighter IV.
Most of the meatier Famitsu.com stories are abridged versions of stories from Weekly Famitsu. From the top ten above, this is true for everything except the PSP-3000 comparison story, the SFIV play report, and the Agito XIII announcement.
