Sony releases first volume of Dress
Company starts retail promotions to coincide with game release.
Sony gave volume 1 of its Dress "online fashion entertainment magazine" a release today. The long awaited title, first announced at 2007's Tokyo Game Show, is available now for 2,000 yen via direct download through PlayStation Store.
As detailed in a late December update, Dress will be released as a series of issues focusing on a specific set of real world brands. Each issue is split into "Real Brands" and "Real Create" parts, offering players a chance both to learn more about their favorite brands and create their very own fashion designs from premium parts.
Coinciding with today's release, Sony gave the Dress official site a major update. In addition to a new layout, interested parties will find a video showcasing the Dress user experience.
Sony also shared specifics on two commemorative launch events for the game. Visitors to Puma By Miharayasuhiro at Osaka's Shinsaibashi area from today to the 20th will be able to sample a special version of the game. Beams T in Tokyo's Shibuya area will offer a similar demo from January 27 through February 10 and will also sell original commemorative t-shirts.
