Sega teams with AceCook for Yakuza 3 ramen
Latest promotion for PS3 adventure sequel.
Sega and AceCook are teaming up once again for a real life food product based off Ryu ga Gotoku 3 (this series is known overseas as Yakuza). AceCook will release a Ryu ga Gotoku 3 instant ramen pack on March 2 as a promotion for the PS3 adventure title.
The new product is named Kyushu Ichibanboshi: Noukou Tonkotsu Ramen. It includes a pork-bone tonkotsu broth and a pork seasoning packet. Pricing is set at 220 yen price (tax separate).
AceCook previously worked with Sega on a ramen product for the first PS3 Gotoku game, Ryu ga Gotoku: Kenzan. According to a statement issued today on the new product, AceCook's product development team has once again gathered all its internal Ryu ga Gotoku fans to deliver an original product.
Unlike that first collaboration, though, this one goes both ways. In addition to the real life ramen product carrying Ryu ga Gotoku 3 logos, the ramen will appear in the game as part of a substory in which players will be able to learn the story behind the product's development.
For Gotoku 3, this is just the latest in a series of promotional tie-ups that Sega has been staging in advance of the game's February 26 release. Last week, Sega announced a tie-up with discount retailer Don Quijote. Earlier this week, Sega detailed a soundtrack single for the game that will be performed by Eikichi Yazawa.
