Sega discovers new control interface
Forget the Wiimote! Sega's got blocks!
No Stick! No Controller!
These are the slogans for Sega's latest arcade title, Block Pipo. You control the action in Block Pipo by putting blocks into a bin in front of the screen. It looks a little something like this:
Sega's introduction page for the game isn't very clear on the matter, but it seems that the blocks are used to guide characters around on the screen.
The game will be at February's AOU arcade event, so hopefully I'll get to play it then.
According to the above site, Block Pipo offers solo and cooperative play as well as competitive play through two machines. The game's genre is, incidentally, "Real Block Video Game."
Here are a few additional screens.
