Atlus rejoins arcade biz with new Power Instinct game
New 2D fighter to see debut at AOU.
Atlus sent out notice today of its return to arcade gaming through an all new entry in a series that's known in the West as Power Instinct. The company will be showing Gogetsuji Ichizoku: Senzo Kuyou at the upcoming AOU 2009 Amusement Expo event.
Gogetsuji Ichizoku: Senzo Kuyou is a new entry in a 2D fighting series that first saw release in 1993. The game promises to retain all the original characters while adding a variety of new combatants. Players will make use of 4 button fighting system as they fight to arranged versions of classic theme songs.
The company notes that this game marks its return to arcades after a 12 year span.
Attendees of this weekend's AOU 2009 Amusement Expo will get a first look at the new game, where it will be displayed in the Atlus booth. It's unclear at this point if it will be playable or video-only.
A release for Gogetsuji Ichizoku: Senzo Kuyou is set for summer.
More (Japanese language) details on the title, along with official artwork, can be found at Atlus's AOU special site.
