The wait is at long last over for the domestic release of one of 2007's most critically acclaimed titles. Mass Effect will see release on May 21, Microsoft announced today. The title will carry a price of 7,140 yen.

Microsoft will be giving buyers a free goodie as a bonus. The game will include a bonus disc item that features a variety of content, including a video documentary. Specifics on the content will be announced later.

Mass Effect was released overseas in 2007 as the latest title from development studio BioWare. While the game's Japanese release was confirmed as far back as June of last year, Microsoft never shared final release details.
