Sega brings Virtual On to Xbox Live Arcade
Updated visuals, new Virtualoids and more for XLA port.
Sega formally unveiled today an Xbox Live Arcade version of its critically acclaimed Virtual On series of arcade mech combat games. The XLA version will be titled Dennou Senki Virtual On Oratorio Tangram Ver.5.66 and will be an updated port of the Oratorion Tangram coin-op.
Changes for the 360 version include full HD visuals, complete with wide screen support. Online support for one-on-one battles via Xbox Live is included as well, offering players the option of officially ranked Rank Matches and unranked Player Matches.
Xbox Live support isn't the only multiplayer option though. The game will also include system link support, allowing players to connect two systems together for competitive play.
New modes for the home version include Customize, Training, and Watch. In Customize mode, players can edit their Virtualoid's color and other parameters. Training lets players fight mock battles against the CPU, with full control over round count, time limit, difficulty, damage, enemy movement and even a mysterious "slow" toggle. Watch lets you view replays that you've saved.
Players can also look forward to new three new Virtualoids. The full Virtualoid cast includes:

- Bal-Bados
