The last time insects infested WiiWare, we got the wretched Shootanto. I was so disgusted by the atrocious atrociousness of this game that I didn't write impressions of it, but I did post a couple of MeTubes, which you can see here.
Now it's Hudson's turn with Madsecta. This WiiWare title is different from Shootanto in that it's 1) an FPS rather than a rails shooter, and 2) rather than plain old ordinary prehistoric jungle insects, you're fighting cyborg insects on another planet!

The game takes place on the planet HS-0204. You play as a surveyor sent out to investigate the planet following the receipt of a distress signal from a lost ship. It's only upon arriving there that you discover the cyborg insect problem, but thankfully your employers had the foresight to equip you with a variety of weapons -- six types in all -- including rifles, grenades, and bazookas.
The game includes a mission-based story mode, and online free and ranked battle modes for up to four players.
Madsecta hits WiiWare tomorrow at 1,000 Wii Points. You can see a video clip here.
If you play with your Wii in English, you'll recognize this as Onslaught, released in America last week.
