What in the world is Jubeat Ripples?

I don't know, but it's on location test now in the place where they know how to take care of cows!

Konami announced yesterday a location test for Jubeat Ripples. The game will be playable today at some arcade down in loserville, Japan (actually Kobe -- sorry, I'm just bitter because they get the game first, and they have better steak). Yokohama (and Tokyo) will get a chance from the 17th through the 22nd at Round 1 outside the West exit of Yokohama station. Osaka will get a test at the same time as Yokohama, at the Entertainment Square Passca near Abeno Station.

Well... they've got the dates down. They've got the locations pretty clearly specified. The location test page even lists operating hours for the arcades.

Now, the only question is, what in the world is Jubeat Ripples?

I'm not sure, but here's some artwork that's at the location test site:

Jubeat Ripples is presumably a sequel or offshoot to Jubeat (known, thankfully, as UBeat elsewhere -- that's actually how the Japanese version is pronounced). That unique Bemani rhythm title uses an aray of small touch screens for a whac-a-mole-like experience. I presume Ripples will be like that, but with water stages.
