Wii to cross 50 million in March -- Nikkei
Nintendo's sales forecasts expected to come true.
Sales of the Wii console will top the 50 million mark some time this month, Nikkei reported today. The site did not list a source, but this would be in line with forecasts announced by Nintendo in late January.
Sony's PlayStation 2 previously held the console speed record for reaching the 50 million mark. Nikkei notes that while Sony took a bit less than three years to reach the mark, the Wii will have done so less than two and a half years following its November 2006 release.
