Bandai Namco plans 30 titles for Virtual Console Arcade

Major support for Nintendo's latest downloadable games initiative.


The Virtual Console Arcade category of Nintendo's Virtual Console download service kicked off today, but it's already getting some major support. Nintendo's announcement from earlier today detailed the service's first six games. These will, it seems, be followed by a lot more in the future.

Bandai Namco shared its full upcoming lineup of games for the service. Arcade fanatics can look forward to thirty titles, listed below:

  • Isthar no Fukkatsu
  • Emeralida
  • Gaplus
  • Galaga 88
  • Cosmo Gang the Puzzle
  • Cosmo Gang the Video
  • Cyber Sled
  • Sky Kid
  • Star Blade
  • Splatterhouse
  • Xevious
  • Solvalou
  • Dragon Spirit
  • Dragon Saber
  • Dragon Buster
  • Tower of Druaga
  • Knuckle Heads
  • Burning Force
  • Pacmania
  • Finest Hour
  • Numan Athletics
  • Pehlios
  • Hopping Mappy
  • Mabael Land
  • Mappy
  • Rolling Thunder
  • Wonder Momo
  • Genpei Toma Den
  • Youkai Dochuki (Shadow Land)

Of these, Gaplus, Ishtar no Fukkatsu, Emeraldia and Solvalou are available today, each priced at 800 Wii Points. The company did not share specific release information for the remaining games, but did say to expect one new game to be released per week.

Outside of Bandai Namco, Sega, Tecmo and Taito are confirmed supporters of the Virtual Console Arcade service. Sega made Space Harrier available today at 800 Wii Points, with Tecmo offering up Star Force at 500 Wii Points. Nintendo also confirmed that Taito will add Space Invaders to the service in the near future.
