SCEJ opens PlayStation official channel at Nico Nico Douga
New channel promises promotional videos and original play movies.
Sony Computer Entertainment Japan became today the latest publisher to open up a video channel at the popular Nico Nico Douga video sharing service. The new "Purecha" official PlayStation Channel is accessible to members of the site starting today ("Purecha" is a combination of "PlayStation and "Channel").
The new channel kicked off with videos for a variety of SCEJ titles, including Afrika, Piposaru Senki, Demon's Souls, and Resistance 2. Sony states that it plans on offering promotional videos for upcoming games and Game Archive titles, as well as original play movies.
Most major publishers have opened up channels at either YouTube, Nico Nico or both. Examples include Sega, Spike and Square Enix. Microsoft recently began holding live broadcasts through Nico Nico Douga for its Xbox Live Park online events.
