Sony stages environmental campaign with Flower
10 yen to be donated to tree planting project for every copy of the game sold.
Sony announced today a campaign that teams its nature-themed PSN title "Flowery" (known as Flower outside of Japan) with a major environmental cause.
For every copy of the 800 yen Flowery sold between the game's February 12 release date and May 12, the company will be donating 10 yen to the Mottainai Project. Started by the National Land Afforestation Promotion Organization and other groups in February 2006, this project teaches environmental issues to kids through the planting and growth of trees.
The money raised through Flowery will be used for the purchase of plans for use with the project. Following the end of the campaign, Sony will be posting the amount of the donation and the number of purchased plants at the Flowery official site.
