Acquire's latest DS title is based on a card game which is itself based off a manga that's already been converted to an anime. Live On DS offers players a chance to try out a digital version of the Live Battle Card Live On card game, which originates from a manga titled Live On Cardliver.

The DS adaptation of the card game includes digital versions of cards up through the third Booster pack. In addition to battling over wireless using the official rules from the original card game, the game also allows players to directly trade cards with one-another.

No screenshots just yet from Acquire, sadly.

For those who aren't familiar with Live Battle Card Live On, the game includes a tutorial which should help you get the hang of things.

This isn't just a lifeless conversion of the card game, though. The story mode, the main mode of play for the game, will put players in the role of an original character (either male or female) who ends up facing off against rival characters in card battles. Some of these rivals are pulled straight from the manga and anime.
