Square Enix Teases New Game Announcement

Will Game With No Name have a name this time?

Something's amiss at Square Enix's Nanashi no Game ("Game With No Name") official site. Can you figure it out?

If you know your Japanese, you'll probably have noted that the site has been inverted left to right. Also, if you click on anything, you get a message that says to return in 7 days.

I actually saw this earlier in the day while browsing the Square Enix site for information on Blood of Bahamut (which just saw its release date announced). I thought the inversion was a part of the site's design. Nanashi no Game is a somewhat bizarre game, after all.

Famitsu.com confirmed later in the day that this is indeed yet another countdown site.

Na Nashi no Game was released for the DS in July 2008. In a twist on The Ring, the game's story centers around a game whose players die, in real life, seven days after they start play. The main game consists of both playing this cursed game, which resembles an old school RPG, and moving about in spooky first person 3D stages.

Check back next week for what could be a new Square Enix game!
