Level 5's Latest Tops Tsutaya Charts

Another hit from the maker of Professor Layton?

Tsutaya merchandiser Taketo Matsuo provided today his latest look at the retail gaming scene in his weekly Hit Analysis column over at Mainichi.jp.

Based off Tsutaya data, the top selling game for the period of May 18 through May 24 was Level 5's third self published brand, Sloan and McHales's Mysterious Story. The game beat out Let's Make a Pro Baseball Team 2 (Sega, DS), Bleach Heat the Soul 6 (Sony, PSP), Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G (Capcom, PSP), and Dragon Ball Kai (Namco Bandai, DS), in that order. Mass Effect debuted in sixth place over the week.

For this week, Matsuo expects Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days to be the top title. He notes that there have been a lot of per-orders for the special Saturday release. He expects Gyakuten Kenji (DS) to place second, with Dynasty Warriors 6 Empires coming in third.
