Third Week in a Row for Kingdom Hearts -- Tsutaya

Shop rep expects Nintendo's Friend Collection to lead the way next week.

Nintendo's Friend Collection could be the next big thing for DS.

Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days topped the charts once again, according to data from retailer Tsutaya. This is the third week at the top of the retailer's charts for the game.

For the week of June 8 through June 14, Infinite Space (Sega, DS) debuted in second. It was followed by Sloan and McHale's Mystery Story (Level-5, DS), Ace Attorney Investigations (Capcom, DS) and Dynasty Warriors 6 Empires (Koei, PS3).

The only other newcomer in the top ten for the week was the New Play Control version of Chibi Robo! at nine.

As usual, this information comes from a Mainichi.jp column Tsutaya merchandiser Taketo Matsuo. In his analysis of the sales data, Matsuo notes that shipments of Infinite Space were low, leading to a lack of stock at many shops. Additionally, he notes that Sloan and McHale climbed in rank, and has reached long seller status.

Kingdom Heats' stay at the top may be coming to an end. Matsuo expects Nintendo's Friend Collection (DS) to top the charts next week. He expects Fate/Unlimited Codes Portable (Capcom, PSP) to come in second, beating out another Level-5 puzzle game, Akira Tago's Brain Exercises.
