Famitsu Pushes Publish Day Up
Friday gaming bible to become Thursday gaming bible.
Enterbrain issued notice today of an upcoming change in the publishing schedule for its star magazine, Weekly Famitsu. Currently released nationwide on Fridays, the magazine will be changing to a Thursday release schedule. The change will take effect starting with the issue due out on August 20.
Among reasons for the change, the company noted that most game releases come on a Thursday as well.
Weekly Famitsu is Enterbrain's largest games publication, with at least 500,000 readers according to data at the Enterbrain corporate site. The magazine tends to see most game announcements first, but also offers starter strategy guides for major releases.
Enterbrain also publishes a variety of other video game magazines targeting different age groups and focusing on specific systems.
