Jaleco Names Mystery RPG WiZmans World

Help them name the hero! Please help them name the hero!

Jaleco's recent countdown to destruction resulted in the unveiling of the: RPG. Actually, "unveiling" isn't really the correct term, as Jaleco initially failed to tell us much of anything about the game -- not even its platform!

Today, the company got just a bit more specific, sharing an official name for the project: WiZmans World (the Japanese character version of this indicates that it should be pronounced "wize-mans world"). The project's official site was also updated with a few details on the game.

WiZmans World is set in a world where magic use is common. Those who are particularly adept at using high level magic are known as mages and are both respected and feared.

Wizlest is the name of the town that was mentioned in the original announcement of the game as being cut off from the rest of the world. You play as an an orphaned boy who was raised by a female mage and whose own magical abilities have started to emerge.

Following up on its user submitted monster campaign, Jaleco will be seeking even more materials from users. Starting today, users can submit names for the game's main character. The name can be submitted through July 31 at the WiZmans World developer blog. The person who submits the winning name will win a collection of Jaleco games (named the "Box of Destruction") and five secret tickets (there's still no indication on what these secret tickets are).

Jaleco is also seeking out event ideas to help promote the game. Submissions can be made at the blog of Jaleco president Takayasu Kato.

A couple of promotions will begin on July 17. On that day, users will be able to submit images to be used as the top image at the game's official site and a logo for the game itself.

Jaleco will hopefully clue us into the game's platform before then.
