Capcom Mystery Site Gives Way to New Devil Kings Game
Historical action series to tackle Battle of Sekigahara in new 2010 entry.
Famitsu.com let the samurai out of the hut in a flash report earlier in the day, but now Capcom has given official confirmation. The teaser site that many thought would eventually unveil a new Onimusha game was actually for Sengoku Basara 3.
The third numbered entry in the series that's known in the West as Devil Kings saw its "unveiling" at a Sengoku Basara series press conference in Tokyo today. The press conference also offered final details on the upcoming stage adaptation for the series.
The "unveiling" is in quotes because Capcom didn't really say much about the game. Players can look forward to the same type of "stylish hero action" of past numbered entries when the game hits an undisclosed platform in 2010.
Notably, the recent PSP entry in the series, Sengoku Basara Battle Heroes, represented a major shift in gameplay for the series, making this the first true Sengoku Basara game since the 2007's Sengoku Basara 2 Heroes, itself an updated version of 2006's Sengoku Basara 2.
The only solid bit about the game that Capcom shared today was its setting. As suggested by the teaser site, whose date counter ended in 1600, the year of the Battle of Sekigahara, the new game will take place in that pivotal period.
In terms of media, Capcom shared a logo and two general silhouettes. Can you figure out the identity of the two?
