Date Set for 428
Chun Soft's critically acclaimed digital novel hits PS3 and PSP in September.
PS3 and PSP owners who were bummed that Chun Soft's focus appeared to turn to Wii with last year's 428 won't have to wait all that long for their own version of the game. Following first announcement of PS3 and PSP ports last week, publisher Spike shared today final release dates. The PS3 version will lead the way on September 3, followed on September 17 by the PSP version. Pricing is set at, respectively, ¥7,140 and ¥5,040.
As previously disclosed, these new versions of 428 are just like the Wii versions. Spike hasn't made mention of any new content. PS3 owners can look forward to one big bonus, though: native HD visuals. It appears that Chun Soft planned ahead when shooting the game (428 is all live action, in case you haven't been keeping up with it).
Spike is holding a pre-order program for the games. Order either version in advance, and you'll get a DVD with making-of footage hosted by two characters from the game, along with a commentary clip from director Jiro Ishii and scenario writer Noriyuki Kitajima.
