Final Fantasy IV The After Set for Japanese Release
Multi part release kicks off on July 21.
Square Enix shared domestic release info today for the WiiWare version of Final Fantasy IV: The After. Titled Final Fantasy IV: The After Years, the first installment of the multi part game will go on sale on July 21, priced at 800 WiiPoints.
The After Years, like its cell phone counterpart, is a direct sequel to the Super Famicom classic Final Fantasy IV. The mobile version hit iMode phones as a series of downloads that kicked off in spring 2008. Across all carriers, the game has shipped 3.5 million units (paid downloads only).
The WiiWare version will, like the mobile version, be split across multiple releases. The initial release will be followed by weekly chapters highlighting different characters. These will sell for between 300 and 800 WiiPoints each.
Overseas, the first chapter was released in early June.
