Sega Bundles Video UMD with Phantasy Star Portable

Sixty minutes of footage detail the PSU saga.

Phantasy Star Portable was one of the earliest games to capture the multiplayer crowd of Monster Hunter. It did so to the tune of over 600,000 units.

And that was before it went budget. Sega will be giving the game a long awaited low priced offering this October, online games shop Ami Ami revealed in a product listing today.

Priced at ¥1,890, the PSP the Best version of the game includes a very special bonus. Joining the game disc, Sega will be bundling in a video UMD titled PSU Chronicle. The disc includes 63 minutes of footage detailing the series' story line. Unfortunately, the retailer doesn't provide specifics beyond this.

Phantasy Star Portable goes budget on October 8.

Sega kept Phantasy Star Portable players busy last summer with a series of free download quests.

A recent trend, presumably in anticipation of the upcoming PSP go release, has been to release budget games in downloadable form. As Ami Ami is a retailer, this is obviously something they wouldn't promote. But even if a downloadable version of Phantasy Star Portable does arrive on October 8, the inclusion of the video UMD seems like a strong incentive for going retail on this one.
