Forza 3 Hits Japan First

Japan gets a few days of quiet before unruly Americans hit the roads.

Japan gets a few days of quiet time with the latest in 360 racing.

Forza Motorsport 3 is coming out first in Japan, Microsoft Japan's press release announcing the game's release date proclaims. A quick look a the dates listed in the release confirms that this is indeed the case... although just barely.

The Turn 10-developed racer will see Japanese release on October 22. A European release will follow the next day on October 23, with North America getting the game a few days later on October 27.

News of Forza's early Japanese release shouldn't come as too much of a surprise, of course. Forza 2 saw a similar early release back in 2007.

Forza 3 will carry a ¥7,140 price tag for its base version. But Microsoft is also preparing the Forza Motorsport 3 Limited Edition. Priced at ¥8,190, this bundle includes a 2GB USB memory card, a special keychain, an exclusive Forza 3 theme, an exclusive Collector's Car Pack, and Forza Motorsport VIP Membership. The car pack includes five cars painted by Turn 10: the Audi R8 5.2 FSI Quattro, Acura NSX, Nissan Fairlady, Aston Martin DB9, and the 2008 Dodge Charger Stock Car. The VIP Membership gives you access to five special cars: the 2009 Aston Martin DBS, 2009 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1, Ferrari 430 Scuderia, 2007 Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera, and the 2007 Porsche 911 GT3 RS (997).

Microsoft says that the Limited Edition will have just one production run.
