Way of the Samurai 4 Set for PS3?

Plus, an improved budget edition with Trophy support and more!

Looks like Spike's mystery Way of the Samurai game is indeed Way of the Samurai 4. A retailer posted a listing recently for the budget version of PS3's Way of the Samurai 3. According to the listing, the game will whip with the latest video footage of Way of the Samurai 4, which the site says is due for release on 2010.

First hints about a new Way of the Samurai game came with the announcement last month of a PSP version of Way of the Samurai 2. That information was also leaked out through an online retailer in a listing that promised the inclusion of a trailer clip for the next entry in the series.

It's unclear if the two mystery games are the same. The PSP listing promised footage of the series' "latest entry," while the PS3 listing specifically promises Way of the Samurai 4 footage.

Also unclear is the platform status of Way of the Samurai 4. The inclusion of the footage with the PS3 budget version of the game makes a PS3 release a safe bet. But an Xbox 360 version could also be on the way, considering that the original was eventually given a multiplatform release.

Outside of the sneak peak footage, Way of the Samurai fans may have good reason to pick up the budget version of part 3. Spike is adding a number of elements, including new character parts and items, a super hard difficulty setting, and Trophy support.

Look for the budget version of Way of the Samurai 3, bonus footage and all, on October 29 at ¥3,990.
