Sega Planning Bayonetta Demo
Producer and director hint at something special for PS3/X360 action title.
The press got a chance to sample Bayonetta, the first PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 game from Osaka's Platinum Games, back at E3. But what about the general public?
In Japan today, publisher Sega held its Feel Bayonetta demo event, which gave 300 lucky members of the public a chance to sample the game. Following the first of three play session, director Hideki Kamiya and producer Yusuke Hashimoto shared some comments with the press indicating that the public at large will also be getting a sampler at some point.
As detailed at Famitsu.com, the two said that Sega and Platinum Games plan to release a demo for the game. "We're currently hard at work on it," said Hashimoto of the demo.
Hashimoto added something a bit mysterious: "It will be more than just a demo that's pulled from the middle of the game. We'd like to make it so that those who've already bought the game will make new discoveries if they play the demo."
I'll leave it to you to speculate on what they're talking about (feel free to do so in the comments section below). Personally, I think most would be satisfied with the demo they had on display at the event. I was told by a Sega rep that it was just the E3 demo (also to be used at the upcoming Tokyo Game Show), but I couldn't get enough of it!
Stay tuned for pics and more from the event in just a bit. You can also see a few shots in the mobile blog.
