CESA To Open TGS Doors Early... Maybe

Actual crowd control may mean no five hour waits for Monster Hunter this year.

Tokyo Game Show organizer CESA issued a peculiar notice today regarding the upcoming event. On the two public days, the 26th and the 27th, attendees can look forward to the show floor opening at most 30 minutes ahead of schedule. The doors are officially set to open at 10:00 on both days, but this notice means an opening time of between 9:30 and 10:00.

CESA isn't just trying to be gracious here. Apparently, there are some concerns about excess crowds due to multiple events being held in the area surrounding the show's Makuhari Messe event hall.

Outside of the early opening time, CESA is taking a number of measures to deal with large crowds. Attendees will be able to obtain special tickets for individual booths and stage shows before entering the main hall. Major exhibitors like Square Enix and Sony Computer Entertainment will be making use of these tickets. For previous shows, exhibitors had to create their own ticketing systems in order to keep visitors from waiting in line too long.
