Yakuza 4's TGS Booth is Pretty Big

Sega provides a closer look at its plans for next week's big event.

Sega provided an updated look at its Tokyo Game Show plans today. For those waiting for Yakuza 4, the main point of note is the company's booth map:

It looks like Yakuza 4 has a good chunk of real estate at the booth. The upcoming PS3 sequel is next to the main event stage. Unfortunately, it appears that the game will not be playable, as Sega lists it as theater-only.

Going clockwise from the event stage, the booth has the following sections:

  • Yakuza 4
  • Valkyria Chronicles 2
  • Bayonetta
  • Sega Partners Corner
  • Games No One Cares About Corner
  • End of Eternity
  • Phantasy Star Portable

Byaonetta, Phantasy Star Portable 2, End of Eternity, and Valkyria Chronicles 2 will be playable.

The Games No One Cares About Corner (not the official name) includes playable Puyo Puyo 7 (Wii and PSP) and Super Monkey Ball Athletic. Let's Make a Pro Soccer Club! 6 Pride of J will also be here, but in video form.

Sega also lists Chin Sports and The House of the Dead Overkill as being in its booth in video form, but does not provide the exact location. Think you can find them?

The Sega Partners corner includes games that Sega isn't publishing, but is showing in their booth because they're such good people (actually, in many cases Sega has distribution ties with these companies). Among the titles set for playable showcase are Lunar Harmony of Silver Star (Gung-Ho, PSP), Poupe Girl DS (Alvion, DS), Up (E Frontier, Wii), Umihara Kawase Shun Second Edition (Genterprise, DS), and Coropata (Luck Plus, DS). Movie-only titles include Madworld (Spike, Wii), Nine Hours, Nine People, Nine Doors (Spike, DS), Little Busters! Converted Ediiton (Prototype, DS), and Tomoyo After It's a Wonderful Life (Prototype, 360).

Sega also has stage events for the show. Yakuza 4 is the main draw here, with a presentation by general director Toshihiro Nagoshi and appearances by the winners of the recent promotional hostess contest. End of Eternity will see a talk show with the staff. Valkyria Chronicles 2 will see separate voice actor and developer talk events. See the full schedule at Sega's official TGS site.

As with pretty much all exhibitors, Sega has some sweet swag set for those who sample the games in its booth. Goods include a Yakuza 4 fan, a Bayonetta trailer collection, a set of four End of Eternity post cards, a Valkyria Chronicles 2 clear file, a Phantasy Star Portable 2 guide book, and a Super Monkey Ball strap. But the main attraction could be the Sega Official Book, which includes a DVD with creator interviews.
