Konami Brings In-Game Ads to Winning Eleven 2010
PS3 installment to download new advertising content periodically.
Konami will be using in-game advertisements in its next Winning Eleven installment, Famitsu.com reports today. According to the site, the Japanese PlayStation 3 version of Winning Eleven 2010 (Pro Evolution Soccer 2010 overseas) will make use of a dynamic advertisement technology from Double Fusion Japan.
Double Fusion's technology can be used to periodically stream new advertisements into games through the internet. Earlier this year, Sega signed a deal with the company to use the technology in its games. Sony announced a similar tie-up last year.
While note getting too specific, the Famitsu.com story states that the ads will be used in the game's stadiums.
