Overall Tokyo Game Show Attendance Down
Despite a second day surge, attendance falls by 10,000.
The Tokyo Game Show saw a surge of attendees on its final day, with 71,852 visiting the Makuhari Messe convention center on the outskirts of Tokyo. While this was higher than last year's second public day total of 71,166 visitors, overall attendance was down over last year.
As detailed by show organizer CESA today, total attendance at this year's show was 185,030. This breaks down to 27,435 and 24,605 on the two business days, and 61,138 and 71,852 on the two public days.
Last year, the show saw a total of 194,288 visitors. The breakdown then was 27,305, 24,178, 71,639 and 71,166.
Even 2007 was higher, with a total of 193,040 visitors. The breakdown then was 29,783, 32,390, 64,795 and 66,072.
