Nintendo Issues Response to DSi BS
Take that, Nikkei and your speculative "journalists."
Today's Nikkei did something it frequently does: breaks major announcements a few days before they're announced. The major announcement that was broken was Nintendo's revised DSi system (which I've tentatively labeled DSi BS, or "Big Screen") for the Japanese market, and the company's expansion of the DSi platform into Korea and China.
Famitsu picked up on the story and phoned Nintendo's about it. Responded the company's PR firm, "We conducted no interviews. We believe it was an article based on conjecture."
Mmm-hmm.
Past Nikkei "conjecture" leaks have included Xbox 360 price drops, Super Mario Galaxy 2 and Wii Fit Plus, and a variety of non-game services for Xbox 360 and Wii. Oh, and Nikkei also provided first word on the DSi itself last September.
Expect more DSi BS in the not-so-distant future.
