Tose Subsidiary Signs with Nintendo
Developer of Karaoke Joysound Wii working on Nintendo Zone download service content.
Tose subsidiary Phonex Communications announced earlier this week (10/28) that it has signed on with Nintendo to develop content for the Nintendo Zone download service.
Nintendo Zone is a network service that connects with the DS. Visitors to shops and facilities that have Nintendo Zone set up can download content to their DS system. In addition to demos of upcoming games, the service also allows for facility-specific content, including area guides and quiz programs. The "Mac de DS" McDonalds networking service is a part of Nintendo Zone.
Since the start of this month, Phonex has been working with partner publishers to plan, develop, and produce content for distribution through Nintendo Zone. The company says that it already has a variety of plans in place for theme parks, aquariums, museums, and other such facilities, and is currently working on getting orders in place.
Phonex's product page lists the studio as being responsible for planning and server management for karaoke software Karaoke Joysound Wii and quiz game Kentei! TV Wii, both WiiWare titles.
